Yumiko Sakamoto

Dr. Yumiko Sakamoto is a Senior Research Associate and Manager at the Okanagan Visualization Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science at UBC Okanagan.

She is a social psychologist specializing in the investigation of individuals’ social cognition and perception within various human-technology interactions. Her research adopts a highly interdisciplinary approach, merging insights from psychology and technology to address critical challenges in the social acceptability of emerging technologies.

Dr. Sakamoto’s work focuses on advancing children’s understanding of interactive technologies.
